The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung has been working in Uganda since 1987. Throughout its presence in Uganda, FES has collaborated with a wide array of partners, including Trade Unions, Universities, Academia, researchers, civil society organizations, Government Departments and local communities. In all priority areas FES Uganda cooperates with Ugandan and international partner organizations that share its basic values and ideas. FES Uganda currently focuses on the following priority areas:
· Enhancing political spaces for a pluralistic debate about the fundamental principles of democracy
· Inclusion of social justice and sustainability aspects in the development process
· Transformation of economic systems
· Strengthening workers` rights and trade unions, especially in the informal economy
In addition to our national work, we are also part of the FES regional project on Eastern Africa.
