Inclusion of social aspects in the development process

Strengthening trade unions and engaging civil society on issues of social justice

To ensure sustainable democratic development, the social implications of political and economic decisions have to be taken into account. Having our own roots in the German labor movement, FES is convinced that no social justice can be achieved or sustained without an effective and powerful trade union system at national and international level.

FES assists the Ugandan trade union umbrella organization as well as individual trade unions in strategy building, organization building, advocacy capacity and in strengthening contacts to their Global Unions.

FES also provides a platform for a wider engagement with issues of social justice by creating the space for interaction between trade unions of the formal and informal sector, civil society organizations, political parties and government representatives on various social and labor related issues.
